Affiliation & Collaboration:
Housed within King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine. It is a founding member of the ASEAN Sleep Federation and maintains a formal research partnership with the University of Pennsylvania (USA) for large-scale epidemiological studies.
Research areas:
Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) in non-obese Asian phenotypes, sleep-disordered breathing and cardiovascular health, the impact of tropical climates on sleep architecture, and the relationship between insomnia and metabolic syndrome.
Current focus:
Led by Dr. Naricha Chirakalwasan, the center is currently focused on “Precision Sleep Medicine.” They are identifying specific physiological “endotypes” of sleep apnea to determine which patients will succeed with oral appliances versus traditional CPAP. They are also leading a major multi-center study on how improving sleep can reduce the risk of stroke in the Thai population.

Affiliation & Collaboration:
Affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Thailand’s oldest and largest medical school. It functions as a primary training site for the World Sleep Society and collaborates with international centers on the “Global Sleep Health” initiative.
Research areas:
Pediatric sleep disorders, neuro-muscular sleep issues, the role of sleep in childhood development, and advanced polysomnography signal analysis.
Current focus:
Currently investigating the long-term neurocognitive effects of sleep-disordered breathing in children. The center is developing new, less invasive screening protocols for pediatric apnea that can be used in general pediatric clinics across the region.
